The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB) will organize, on August 3 at 5:00 p.m. (CET), the online event "European solutions for the tourism sector: overcoming crises with innovative training" in the framework of the Erasmus Plus T-CRISIS-NAV project (2020-2023)

Specifically, the partners have developed various training materials, structured in modules, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, Professional Training course providers, tourism networks, as well as teachers and students in higher education.

Three professionals linked to the area of tourism will also participate in the event. At 6:00 p.m. (CET), Hazael Cerón, coordinator of Research and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Tourism and Gastronomy of the Universidad Anáhuac México, will give a lecture entitled "A survival model for estimating tourism recovery: the case of Mexico."  The expert will focus on analyzing a survival model to estimate the recovery of tourism demand in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, taking into account different determinants affecting tourist confidence.

Aline Noyola de la Llave, PhD in Economics and Government, will speak at 07:00 p.m. (CET) with the presentation "The fight against multidimensional poverty in developing countries through community-based tourism."

In this presentation, the speaker will explain how tourism generated and led by rural communities in developing countries contributes to combating multidimensional poverty, especially the reduction of extreme poverty, one of the most acute forms of deprivation that individuals experience and that threatens their human rights.

Alina Celi Frugoni, director of academic projects in the area of Tourism, will close the lecture series at 8:00 p.m. (CET) with the presentation "Recovery of tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean for its contribution to the SDG 2030." The talk will place special emphasis on ecotourism and the need to convert the sector towards sustainable tourism, thus favoring social inclusion and the fight against poverty. In addition, the sector is expected to recover and contribute to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

The conference is free and open to all those interested in the subject and will be live streamed in each country via YouTube.
