Senior University Officials
The institution's single-person authorities are responsible for academic and administrative management within their respective areas of jurisdiction. These staff members ensure that the institution’s mission is fulfilled and that student services are provided efficiently.
- Dr. Jesús Arzamendi Sáez de Ibarra, Chair of the Governing Board: serves as the highest executive authority and is responsible for establishing institutional policies and strategic directions.
- Dr. Carol Morales Miranda, Rector: the university’s chief executive and legal representative, responsible for all aspects of university administration and the implementation of development plans.
- Dr. Emmanuel Soriano Flores, Director of Planning, Accreditation, and Licensing: a strategic leader who supports the management of effectiveness and the internal culture of quality by overseeing accreditation processes and continuous improvement.
- Dr. Carmen Lilí Rodríguez Velasco, Academic Dean: responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities of the academic departments and for the quality of the educational programs.
- Ms. Odalys Ocasio Serrano, Dean of Student Affairs: responsible for planning and evaluating the areas of admissions, registration, and student services, ensuring the well-being and confidentiality of these processes.
- Ms. Yaira Velázquez Maldonado, Dean of Administration and Finance: the official responsible for asset management, human resources, and the development of financial plans to ensure the fulfillment of institutional goals
Academic Departments
UNIB's academic departments are responsible for offering academic programs and shaping the university's research priorities. Each department is managed by a director responsible for coordinating the resources and responsibilities of the programs under their purview. Each is led by a specialist in their respective field:
- Dr. Eduardo García: Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainability.
- Dr. Manuel Masías: Director of the Department of Innovation, Business, and New Technologies.
- Dr. Silvia Pueyo: Director of the Department of Language, Education, and Communication Sciences.
