UNIB organizes a webinar on nutritional treatment in patients with CKD

The International Iberoamerican University (UNIB) will organize, on May 13 at 10:00 am (Puerto Rico), in the webinar "Challenges of Nutrition in Chronic Kidney Disease", which will be conducted by Alfonso Martín Cueto and Roxana Michel Márquez Herrera.

Nutritional management is a key element in patient's care with chronic kidney disease, however, it constitutes a real challenge for the nutrition professional, as it demands specialized knowledge and skills. The lecture will cover the characteristics of nutritional intervention in patients with chronic kidney disease, as well as those nutritional aspects that are poorly evaluated in this population.

Roxana Michel Márquez Herrera has a degree in Nutrition and a PhD in Public Health Sciences. She is also the author of the book "Nutrition in Chronic Kidney Disease: Principles and Recommendations for Clinical Practice and articles published in international journals on nutrition and chronic kidney disease. In addition, she has been a speaker on multiple occasions at congresses, master's degrees and diploma courses related to areas of clinical nutrition, particularly in chronic diseases.

Alfonso Martín Cueto has a PhD in Pharmacology and is a specialist in Nephrology, with a Master's degree in Medical Sciences. He has published over 100 scientific articles, 25 book chapters and 4 books, with more than 2,000 citations. He is head of the Medical Research Unit in Renal Diseases, Hospital de Especialidades, CMNO, IMSS, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
