The International Iberoamerican University (UNIB) will participate, on September 8th at 10:00 am (GMT-4, Puerto Rico), in the webinar "Emerging Initiatives for Teaching Transitions between Academies and Classrooms", given by Thomas Prola and Josep Alemany.
This webinar focuses on an oftenly unexplored topic: teacher training and the difficulties in transitioning from learning to teach to teaching to learn. Given an obvious lack of experience, the first years of teaching are particularly challenging and 1 in 3 teachers in some European countries give up the profession.
In order to reduce teacher attrition, some initiatives have appeared. The webinar will present the problems and the context they arise in, as well as possible emerging solutions to improve professional teacher training and the quality of education.
Thomas Prola is a doctoral candidate in Education and Society and holds a Master's degree in Teaching in Digital Environments. Josep Alemany, on the other hand, is the coordinator of the project Digital TA, led by the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) and in which FUNIBER participates.
This project aims to develop and implement a digital platform with a European approach, in order to improve teaching practice of student teachers and novice teachers.
The conference is free and open access, and will be broadcast live in each country via YouTube. Broadcast schedules are available at this link.
Registration is required to participate:
Registration closes 24 hours prior to the webinar.
