The MLS Sport Research journal, sponsored by the International Iberoamerican University (UNINI Puerto Rico), published its first issue in June. The MLS Sport Research journal will be published twice a year in Spanish and English but will also accept and publish articles in Portuguese.
The MLS Sport Research journal aims to publish original research and review articles in basic, applied, and methodological areas that contribute to progress in the field of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.
Specifically, according to one of the journal's Editors-in-Chief, Dr. Álvaro Velarde, the publication will focus on different areas in Sports: health, physical education, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, first aid, new technologies, physiology, nutrition, psychology, leadership and management, training, and sports performance. Submitted manuscripts undergo a peer review system based on anonymity.
The articles in this first issue are as follows:
- Comparison of Foam Roller types assessing their acute effect on the rectus femoris muscle using tensiomyography
- Athletics, rugby and football: assessment of motivation and self-compassion throughout the season
- Effects of dance in patients with Parkinson: systematic review
- Effects of physical exercise on primary dysmenorrhea. Systematic review
- Effects of the menstrual cycle on the physical and psychological state of an active woman
- Anterior cross ligament injury (ACL) in cantabrian football players. Descriptive analysis of risk factors
The journal is edited by the Multi-Lingual Scientific (MLS) Journals, an open access publisher based in Santander, Spain. In addition to support from UNINI Puerto Rico, the journal has the sponsorship of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), la European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), la International Iberoamerican University (UNINI Mexico), la International University Foundation of Colombia (UNINCOL) and the International University of Cuanza (UNIC).
