The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNIB) will organize the webinar "+Influence of Advertising on the Development of Obesity and Eating Behavior", which will be given by Lizbeth Morales and Adriana Garduño on March 2 at 11:00 a.m. (Puerto Rico).
The webinar aims to raise awareness of international policies and actions recognized for the control of obesity and chronic degenerative diseases in the population. Food choice through different labeling systems will be discussed, as well as the impact of policies related to food sales, advertising and the tax on sugar-sweetened beverages. Dr. Adriana will also explain the main institutional or governmental strategies to tackle obesity at the general population level, including economic measures, food supply actions, and household interventions.
Lizbeth Morales González has a degree in Nutrition, a Diploma in Social Appropriation of Science from the Mexican Council of Science and Technology and a Master's Degree in Health Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado of México. She has taught subjects such as Epidemiology, Public Health and Methodology. She is currently the Director of Research at the Universidad de la Salud del Estado de México. Adriana Garduño is a nutritionist, PhD in Health Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado of México, Ph-Leader in Public Health from Emory University, and MSc in Social Epidemiology from University College London. She has worked in the clinical, academic, administrative and research areas in different hospitals and universities, which has allowed her to publish more than 25 scientific articles as author or co-author in scientific journals with international impact. She is currently the Director of Advanced Studies at the Universidad de la Salud del Estado de México.
