On November 8, the Cultural Work of FUNIBER and the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO), in collaboration with the International Ibero-American University (UNIB), the Department of Art, Culture, and History of Arecibo, and the organization Arte 360, inaugurated the exhibition "Aún sorprendo" a remarkable exhibition of works by the famous artist Pablo Picasso at the Casa Trina Padilla de Sanz Museum in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

The exhibition is free to the public and will be open until Saturday, November 22, 2025, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays until 5:00 p.m.

Prominent academic authorities were present at the opening ceremony, including Dr. Carol Morales, rector of UNIB. Yisel Belén also participated in the opening, representing the mayor of Arecibo, Carlos Ramírez. Rosa Aymat, director of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Development of the Municipality of Arecibo, also attended with her team, who contributed significantly to the success of the opening day, in collaboration with the organization Arte 360.

During the inauguration, the audience enjoyed artistic performances by Mr. Rafael Augusto, who delighted attendees with beautiful guitar compositions. Later, the group Cuatro D' Luna enriched the atmosphere with traditional songs and melodies full of feeling.

The exhibition "Picasso: I Still Surprise" is composed of three complete collections. The first, "Les Bleus de Barcelona," consists of 11 works that reflect the artist's early periods in Barcelona. The second collection, "Dancers," includes 14 engravings on leather that capture dancers in a single stroke, demonstrating Picasso's technical and aesthetic mastery. Finally, "Geneviève" comprises 12 works on Japanese paper, created in the 1950s and published in 1974, which portray Geneviève, Picasso's young lover, in a series of spontaneous and decorative drawings, revealing a more personal and lesser-known side of the artist.

This event also highlights UNIB's commitment to promoting art and culture as fundamental pillars of comprehensive education. Through initiatives such as this, the university seeks to foster access to high-level artistic expressions, bringing world-renowned works closer to communities and contributing to the cultural enrichment of the region.
