The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de Puerto Rico (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB) will organize, next May 14 at 16:00 hours (GMT+2), the webinar «Telecommunications Policy in the Information Society: Technology Policy of the European Union».
The session will be given by Miguel López Coronado and Agustín de Asís Roig and is part of the Jean Monnet Chair «Telecommunications Policy in the EU and Information Society» offered by the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO).
The information society can be defined as a phase of social development in which citizens, organizations or companies can obtain and share information instantaneously from anywhere, offering equal opportunities. The development of this new virtual society implies a change in the way people relate to each other. Strengthening the application of ICTs in administration, e-learning, inclusion, culture and health is the basis for its development. All this must be supported by very high-capacity network infrastructures and mobile telephony (5G) that guarantee, among other things, solid cybersecurity. During the session, emphasis will also be placed on European public policies in the field of technology.
The event is held in collaboration with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA).
The conference is free and open to all those interested in the subject, and will be broadcast live in each country where FUNIBER has presence. The broadcasting schedules can be consulted in this link. To participate, it is necessary to register:
If you are interested in receiving the complete training of the chair, you will find more information in this link. Students in the program must complete practical sessions focused on gamification and mobile application design to receive their accreditation.
