The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Ibero-American University, UNIB) participated in the meeting of the Arecibo Region State Board of Trustees, held recently at the Lenel Royal Room in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The event brought together trustees, business leaders, and human resources professionals to share knowledge and discuss issues affecting the workplace.
The event featured presentations and resources on human resources, labor law, and industrial-organizational psychology. These topics are particularly relevant for those involved in managing teams and organizations, especially given the changes and demands that characterize today’s workplace.
The event offered attendees the opportunity to learn about perspectives and tools related to their professional responsibilities. It also fostered dialogue among representatives from different sectors, in a setting designed for professional development and the exchange of experiences.
Engaging with the Professional Sector
Through an exhibition booth, UNIB shared information about its educational offerings and its collaboration agreements with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER). The university’s presence allowed it to connect with professionals and business representatives interested in learning about its academic offerings and opportunities for collaboration.
In addition to presenting its programs, the institution was able to listen to the concerns and needs of those working in areas related to people and organizational management. This exchange helps maintain a close relationship between the university community and the professional world, and opens opportunities to identify common interests.
Participation in the event also facilitated new connections within the Arecibo community. In such settings, direct dialogue helps identify the challenges faced by employers and professionals, as well as the areas where continuing education can support the development of their skills.

Work-Related Training
For the International Ibero-American University, participating in activities aimed at the labor sector is a way to align its educational mission with the realities of professionals and organizations. Higher education maintains a close connection with these contexts: it allows for the expansion of knowledge and addresses needs that evolve alongside the dynamics of the workplace.
UNIB’s participation in the meeting of the Arecibo Region State Employers’ Committee is part of its commitment to strengthening communication and collaboration with various sectors in Puerto Rico. The institution will continue to take part in forums for exchange that bring education closer to the professional community and foster new opportunities for cooperation.
