UNIB Participates in the 52nd Annual SHRM Conference and Exhibition in Puerto Rico

The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Ibero-American University, UNIB) participated in the 52nd edition of the Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), held from July 31 to August 2, 2025, at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Under the theme «Thriving: HR Soaring Beyond Boundaries», this international event brought together experts and professionals in the field of human resources to address key issues such as organizational transformation, innovation, resilient leadership, and workplace well-being.

UNIB was represented by its president, Dr. Carol Morales; the dean of Human Resources, Ms. Yaira Velázquez; and the director of Admissions, Ms. Roselyn La Viera. During the conference, presentations were given by renowned international experts, such as Dr. Roberto Canessa, who shared his experience and knowledge on leadership in extreme situations and resilience.

Johnny C. Taylor Jr., president and CEO of SHRM Global, gave a keynote address on maximizing human potential in changing environments, emphasizing the importance of purposeful leadership and the role of artificial intelligence. Expert Paulo César Preciado addressed strategies for preparing organizations for the age of artificial intelligence, highlighting the importance of organizational purpose and talent retention.

The event included simultaneous sessions on relevant topics such as strategic compensation, artificial intelligence integration, burnout management, cybersecurity, legal compliance, and a detailed analysis of Law 80 and labor reform in Puerto Rico. In addition, the UNIB team actively participated in the exhibition spaces, strengthening networking with local and international companies and professionals.
