The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), in collaboration with the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), invites everyone to participate in the PHotoFUNIBER'26 International Photography Contest. In this eighth edition, we will award prizes to the best images that represent the theme «social impact. »
The registration and submission period for entries, via the contest website, begins this Thursday, March 12, and will remain open until April 20, at 11:59 p.m. (Spain time).
The universities in the FUNIBER collaboration network are also participating in this contest: the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the International University of Cuanza (UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA).
The contest is open to anyone of legal age, amateur and professional photographers, residing in any of the countries where FUNIBER has a presence.
How to participate?
Contestants may only submit one image, which must be original and not have been awarded in other contests or commercially exploited (whether for journalistic, advertising, or any other purposes). The image may not be created using artificial intelligence or digital art, but the theme may be represented creatively.
After an initial preselection of 100 images, a Jury of Honor, made up of photography specialists, will be responsible for evaluating the photographs and selecting the winners.
The finalist photographs will be available from April 30 on the contest website, where a public vote will be held until May 26. The winners will be announced on June 25.
Prizes
The author of the photograph chosen by the jury will receive a prize of 400 euros and an 80 % scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a prize of 300 euros and a 50 % scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the Foundation.
A total of six special prizes will also be awarded to the best photographs taken by students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, UNIC, UNIROMANA, and FUNIBER scholarship recipients who have completed their studies or are currently studying. The winners of the special prizes will receive €200 each. In addition, there may be honorable mentions.
The contest, promoted within the framework of the FUNIBER Cultural Work, is organized with the aim of recognizing talent, promoting the participation of students in the network, and creating a space for reflection and contemplation on the world around us.
