The International Ibero-American University (UNIB) in Arecibo will host “CUD en Tu Pueblo: Arecibo Regional Edition,” an initiative organized by the United Retailers Center of Puerto Rico (CUD). The purpose is to provide resources, specialized guidance, and practical tools to merchants, business owners, entrepreneurs, and independent professionals in the region.

The event will take place on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the UNIB campus, located at Km 1.3, Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The event will be in-person, last approximately three hours, and feature free admission; however, space is limited, so prior registration is required via the following form.

“CUD en Tu Pueblo” is part of the Puerto Rico United Retailers Center’s efforts to provide direct support to the business sector, especially small and medium-sized businesses seeking to strengthen their operations, improve their competitiveness, and access available support programs. During the event, participants will receive free business guidance on financing, resources, digital tools, and business growth strategies.

The agenda includes topics of high relevance for business development in the current context, such as legal matters, health and insurance, access to capital and incentives, digital tools for businesses, human resources, personal branding, and professional positioning, as well as preparedness for severe weather events. This content aims to address the specific needs of the local business community by offering up-to-date and practical information to aid in decision-making.

The event is aimed at owners of small and medium-sized businesses, merchants, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, independent professionals, and individuals interested in starting a business venture. In addition to the guidance sessions, the event will provide a space for attendees to connect with business support organizations and build networking opportunities among participants.

The United Retailers Center of Puerto Rico is one of the island’s longest-standing business organizations, with a mission focused on promoting the economic, technological, social, and cultural development of small and medium-sized merchants, industrialists, and self-employed workers. Through its programs, activities, and partnerships, the organization has historically contributed to strengthening Puerto Rico’s business ecosystem.

For UNIB, hosting this event represents an opportunity to continue opening its university spaces to dialogue with the community and to develop initiatives that link higher education with the needs of the business sector. Holding this event in Arecibo reinforces the University’s institutional commitment to education, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of projects that foster Puerto Rico’s professional and economic growth.
