The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de Puerto Rico (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB) will organize, on October 8 at 16:00 hours (GMT+2), the webinar "Historical dimension, legal and institutional framework of the European Union".
The session will be given by Miguel López Coronado and is part of the Jean Monnet Chair "Telecommunications Policy in the EU and Information Society" which is held by the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and is facing its last academic year this 2024/2025.
The legal and institutional framework of the European Union has developed from the end of World War II to the present day. The speaker will explain the creation of the launching of the EU telecommunications policy, which dates back to the 1980s. The Single Market, from 1993, is another of the EU's great achievements, which will be the subject of the webinar. The different founding treaties will give a legal basis to the Telecommunications Policy and the Information Society.
The event is held in collaboration with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA).
