For the seventh year in a row, the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) presents the PHotoFUNIBER International Photography Contest. This year, we are interested in awarding the best images that represent the theme of "education."
Deadline to register and submit entries through the contest website begins this Wednesday, March 5, and will be open until April 1 at 11:59 p.m. (Spanish time).
Universities from FUNIBER’s collaborative network are participating in the contest, such as the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA), and the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB).
The contest is open to anyone of legal age, professional to amateur photographers, people living in any of the countries where FUNIBER is present.
How to participate?
Contestants may only submit a single original image, which must not have been awarded in other contests or commercially exploited (whether for journalistic, advertising, or any other purpose). The image may not be made by artificial intelligence or digital art, but the subject can be represented creatively.
After an initial pre-selection of 100 entries, an Honorary Jury made up of photography specialists will be in charge of evaluating the photographs and selecting the winners.
The finalist photographs will be available from April 28 via the contest website, where a popular vote will be held until May 15. The winners will be announced on June 12.
Prizes
The author of the photograph chosen by the jury will receive a €400 prize and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a €300 prize and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the organization.
A total of six special prizes will also be awarded to students and former students of UNEATLANTICO, UNIC, and FUNIBER scholarship holders who have completed their studies or are currently studying. Additionally, honorable mentions may be given.
This year, we inaugurated the UNIROMANA Special Award, exclusively for nationals of the Dominican Republic. The winners of the special prizes will receive 200 euros each.
The contest, promoted in the framework of FUNIBER's Cultural Work, is organized with the aim of recognizing talent, promoting the participation of students from the network, and generating a space for reflection and contemplation on the world around us.
