Master in Project Design, Administration and Management with a specialty in Innovation and Product
I want more Information

Description

This master’s program integrates concepts related to the design, operation, and management of projects—from the creation of the project to its subsequent analysis—regardless of its origin or purpose.

From this integrated perspective of project design, management, and direction, the program aims to train professionals with strong social and ethical commitment, and with an open vision capable of incorporating new processes for the development (design) of innovative projects. These projects include any initiative that seeks to produce, whether tangible or not, a “product” with a high degree of innovation.

The program is especially geared toward professionals working in areas related to the design of innovation-based products. It is important to emphasize that when referring to a “product,” we mean any tangible or intangible outcome resulting from a project, characterized by a strong presence of “design” throughout its development phases.

Learning Objectives

Competencies

  • Provide knowledge to professionals working in areas related to the design of innovation-based products—meaning any tangible or intangible element resulting from a project, with a strong presence of “design” throughout its development phases.
  • Deliver instruction in new or little-known environments within broad contexts related to the student’s field of study, so that they may apply the knowledge acquired—formulating judgments, making decisions, and solving problems—through all phases of innovative product design, from development to subsequent analysis.
  • Provide scientific research tools that allow students to conduct research or produce creative work ethically, demonstrating mastery of the material and validating the training of professionals with strong social and ethical commitment and an open vision capable of incorporating new processes for the development (design) of innovative projects.

Outcomes

At the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Define basic concepts in the field of innovation and product-oriented projects.
  • Design a preliminary project that considers the basic aspects of an innovative project: from defining the problematic situation to presenting the proposed solution, identifying the elements that must be defined and specified for future management and implementation of the proposal.
  • Recognize and analyze the fundamental aspects of a project offering an innovative service or product, in order to strategically define the service to be provided, the required ergonomics, and the functional aspects of the project.
  • Analyze the key elements involved in managing a project with innovative contributions: identification of stakeholders, user requirements, team management, and the essential factors that define its feasibility and viability, including aspects related to patenting and intellectual property rights.
  • Identify the elements that contribute to the quality, safety, and reliability of the project, as well as those that represent significant risks. They will also analyze the possible impact the project may have on its surrounding environment, considering product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Integrate basic project management and direction tools to ensure the proper handling of resources, scheduling, and the ICT tools available in the field of innovation and product-oriented projects.

Who Should Apply

The proposed training methodology, together with the clarity, breadth, and instructional design of the content, makes it possible to offer the Master’s in Project Design, Management, and Direction to professionals with university-level education in any field of knowledge who wish to engage in the world of projects in a responsible manner and with a high level of study discipline. It is intended for those who aim to work in project-related teaching and research and/or in the professional field, holding executive or advisory positions in project development.

Duration

Regarding the distribution of time, the following is established:

  • Although this is a distance-learning program and not subject to in-person classes, it follows a collaborative and cooperative learning methodology; therefore, a specific start date is set for each cohort once enrollment is formalized, provided that seats are available. The Design phase of the program will become available once the student has completed the requirement of two courses in the Management area.
  • For academic and learning reasons, the minimum duration of the Program is twenty-one months.
  • The maximum time allowed to complete the Program is twenty-four months. Within this period, the student must have successfully completed all evaluated activities and must have passed the Master’s Thesis.
